Second Edition
English in Medicine is a comprehensive and up-to-date course in medical English. It is for doctors, medical students and other medical professionals at an intermediate language level who have to use English to communicate with patients and their relatives and with medical colleagues.
Each of the seven units focuses on one area of doctor-patient communication, from history-taking and examination to diagnosis and treatment. The course does not require a specialist knowledge of medicine on the part of the teacher.
The Second Edition has been prepared to ensure that the specialist content reflects recent advances in medicine. The histories, reference texts and journal articles have been updated and sections reorganised with tasks coded according to skill.
